OntoMongo- Ontology-Based Data Access for NoSQL
نویسندگان
چکیده
Ontology-based data access (OBDA) has gained attention in recent years for providing access to large volumes of data by using ontologies as a conceptual layer and exploring their ability to describe domains and deal with data incompleteness. This is done through mappings that connect the data in the database to the vocabulary of the ontology. The first OBDA studies were about data stored in relational databases. Recent studies have begun to extend the use of OBDA to NoSQL databases. In this paper, we present a novel approach for OBDA with document-oriented NoSQL databases. Differently from related works, our approach uses an access interface with an intermediate conceptual layer that is extensible and flexible, capable of providing access to different types of database management systems. To validate the approach, we have implemented a prototype for MongoDB, using a real-world application domain as a case study.

Ontology-Mediated Queries for NOSQL Databases
Ontology-Based Data Access has been studied so far for relational structures and deployed on top of relational databases. This paradigm enables a uniform access to heterogeneous data sources, also coping with incomplete information. Whether OBDA is suitable also for non-relational structures, like those shared by increasingly popular NOSQL languages, is still an open question. In this paper, we...

The World Wide Web infrastructure together with its more than 2 billion users enables to store information at a rate that has never been achieved before. This is mainly due to the will of storing almost all end-user interactions performed on some web applications. In order to reply to scalability and availability constraints, many web companies involved in this process recently started to desig...

متن کاملOBDA Over Non-Relational Databases
The database landscape has been significantly diversified during the last decade, resulting in the emergence of a variety of non-relational (also called NoSQL) databases, e.g., XML and JSON-document databases, key-value stores, and graph databases. To facilitate access to such databases and to enable data integration of non-relational data sources, we generalize the well-known ontologybased dat...
